An append-only ledger, not a number you overwrite
Most small-business tools store stock as a figure and let you edit it. That makes discrepancies unexplainable: the number changed, and nothing records why.
MizUp records movements — opening, purchase, sale, return, adjustment, transfer, damage — and derives the level from them. The level is a cache of the ledger, rebuilt on demand, so the two cannot disagree.
Multi-warehouse and branch transfers
Stock lives in a warehouse, not in the abstract. Transfers are two legs with one group id, so a unit is never in both places or neither. A branch can carry its own GSTIN where it is separately registered.
Batch, expiry, serial and barcode
Per-item switches rather than a global setting: a pharmacy tracks batches and expiry, an electronics retailer tracks IMEI, a garment store tracks neither. Barcodes are stored on the item and searchable, so a scanner works anywhere the search box does.
Valuation you can defend
Weighted average cost is maintained on every movement, so stock value is current rather than computed once a year. Inbound at a known cost moves the average; outbound is valued at it.
